The Ministry of Education has supported a new master’s degree program in Artificial Intelligence developed by the Technical University of Košice (TUKE) and the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU). The universities are launching the first joint Artificial Intelligence study program of its kind in Slovakia.

The program will run entirely in English and includes support from NVIDIA, one of the world’s leading AI technology companies. Students will also receive a double degree awarded jointly by both universities.

The new Artificial Intelligence study program proves that universities in Slovakia can provide modern education comparable to leading international institutions,” said Minister of Education Tomáš Drucker.

According to the minister, the English-language curriculum, strong connection to practical experience and the double degree model make the program attractive for talented Slovak and international students alike.

Combining the strengths of Slovakia’s leading technical universities

The program connects the expertise of STU in Bratislava and TUKE in Košice. The Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies at STU contributes advanced know-how in software engineering and intelligent systems.

At the same time, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at TUKE brings extensive experience in real-world AI applications, especially in healthcare and autonomous mobility.

Through cooperation with NVIDIA, students will gain access to cutting-edge technological platforms, computing infrastructure and the latest developments from the global AI ecosystem.

Slovakia needs a new generation of experts who will not only work with artificial intelligence, but also actively develop it,” said State Secretary for Higher Education and Academic Research Róbert Zsembera.

He highlighted the cooperation between TUKE and STU, which combines the capacities of two Slovak universities with a global technology leader to create a modern international study program with significant added value for the country.

Applications open until July 6

  • The Artificial Intelligence study program welcomes students from around the world.
  • Annual tuition costs 7,000 euros.
  • The universities will launch the full-time program in the 2026/2027 academic year.
