Roadmap for AI in Education
2025
Preparation: Educational content on AI is being developed, pilot projects are being launched. Schools will receive support through training programmes, an AI web platform is being created, and the first “AI Day at School” will take place.
2026
AI in Teaching: Schools will begin teaching about artificial intelligence and will receive the necessary learning materials. Vouchers for the use of AI tools will be introduced, and new solutions will be tested to support both teaching and teachers’ work.
2027
Development: Proven AI tools will be implemented. The use of AI in schools will be monitored, and the plan will be adjusted based on the results. Competence centres will be established to ensure that the system keeps pace with the times.
About the Plan
“Artificial intelligence is not a threat, but a tool to support teachers, pupils and students. We want every school to have access to modern and safe tools.”
Tomáš Drucker
Minister of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic
“I am genuinely inspired by the vision, progress, and impact of Slovakia’s initiatives in the digitalisation of education and artificial intelligence. Thank you for your exceptional leadership.”
Kate Maxwell
Global Public Sector Leader, Microsoft
“We consider the AI implementation plan to be professional, comprehensive and feasible. It covers all key areas, but its execution will be crucial. Within the Alliance, we are ready to engage stakeholders from the field and support the project’s success from the ground up.”
Tomáš Hasala
CEO Eduvalue, Alliance of Education Innovators
“AI can be a useful tool in many areas, but it also brings potential risks. It is similar to fire. It can be useful and keep us warm. But we do not hand out matches to children or the inexperienced.”
prof. RNDr. Branislav Rovan, PhD.
Slovak Informatics Society, Department of Computer Science FMFI UK
“AI is not a tool for bypassing learning, but an opportunity to transform it. If we want to prepare students for the digital world, we must teach them to use AI responsibly, critically and creatively. The key is not prohibition, but properly designed tasks and strong support for teachers.”
Peter Pallo
Teacher of Slovakia 2019, expert in digital innovation in education
“The future of education begins with the trust that technology can strengthen the value of human knowledge and open new pathways for students, teachers and researchers. AI is a means — the goal remains a university that shapes individuals and advances knowledge.”
Róbert Zsembera
State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic
