A new national project AI for All will provide schools with practical guidelines for the responsible use of artificial intelligence. It will assess schools\u2019 needs, examine the impact of AI on education and provide financial support through AI vouchers. The goal is to help teachers and education professionals use AI meaningfully, ethically and in line with regulatory requirements.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic is launching a new national project Supporting the Responsible and Pedagogically Meaningful Use of Artificial Intelligence in Regional Education.<\/span><\/p>\n

With a budget of nearly \u20ac3.7 million, the project responds to the rapid adoption of AI tools that schools and teachers already use in practice, often without consistent rules, methodological support or a clear assessment of potential risks. <\/span><\/p>\n

The project aims to create a comprehensive support system that will help schools use AI safely, ethically and in ways that enhance teaching and learning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rather than developing new AI tools, the Ministry will focus on evaluating and supporting existing solutions. Schools will gain access to practical recommendations, research data, examples of good practice and financial support for selected educational AI licences.<\/span><\/p>\n

What the Project Will Deliver for Schools<\/span><\/h3>\n

The project will map how kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools use AI, identify the needs of teachers and education professionals, and determine where schools perceive the greatest risks. These findings will help tailor support measures to the actual needs of schools rather than assumptions.<\/span><\/p>\n

A key component of the project will be research into the impact of AI on education. The Ministry will examine how AI influences teachers\u2019 work, student learning, motivation, assessment, digital skills and school processes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Slovakia will also participate in the international ICILS 2028 study, coordinated nationally by the National Institute for Education and Youth (NIVAM).<\/span><\/p>\n

Schools will receive national frameworks and guidance for the use of AI. These materials will help teachers distinguish between appropriate, risky and unacceptable uses of artificial intelligence in teaching and school administration.<\/span><\/p>\n

The frameworks will address safety, ethics, personal data protection, pedagogical suitability and compliance with European regulations, including the AI Act and GDPR.<\/span><\/p>\n

AI Vouchers to Support Practical Use of AI<\/span><\/h3>\n

The project will also introduce a financial support mechanism in the form of AI vouchers. Selected schools will be eligible to receive support for educational AI licences and tools with clearly defined pedagogical applications.<\/span><\/p>\n

Support will focus on areas such as inclusive education, teaching diverse groups of students, assessment of learning outcomes and reducing administrative burdens for teachers.<\/span><\/p>\n

AI vouchers will not cover hardware purchases, technical equipment, general-purpose chatbots or licences already funded through other public resources. The Ministry will publish detailed rules, eligibility criteria and application procedures in a dedicated methodology document.<\/span><\/p>\n

Part of a Broader Plan for AI in Education<\/span><\/h3>\n

The national project builds on Slovakia\u2019s Plan<\/a> for the Responsible Use of AI in Education. Through this initiative, the Ministry is establishing a practical framework for AI education and the safe use of artificial intelligence in schools.<\/span><\/p>\n

The plan brings together<\/a> AI literacy for students, support for teachers, recommended tools, pilot testing of solutions, personalised learning, data-informed management and innovation development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Between 2025 and 2027, schools will benefit from educational materials, methodological support, training programmes and testing of new tools. The plan is based on the principles of accessibility, equity, quality and safety.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Ministry will regularly update the plan to reflect technological developments, legislative changes and the evolving needs of schools.<\/span><\/p>\n
